Where do Ribfest donations go?

Every Canada Day weekend, the community answers the call for donations to Rotary during Ribfest.
So, what does the Rotary Club of Waterdown do, and where do those donations go?
Our Club, along with the Rotary Club of Flamborough AM, has been bringing Oh Canada Ribfest to Waterdown since 2010. For us, Ribfest is both a fundraiser and a community project. We love seeing local residents get together on the Canada Day weekend with their family, friends and neighbours and we work hard to provide a clean, safe environment that offers great music, tasty food and lots of activities for all ages.
We have other fundraisers, including a Golf Tournament, which we run jointly with the Flamborough Chamber of Commerce, and a Trivia Night. This spring, we held our first paper shredding event and we hold a scrap metal drive at regular intervals as well.
Through our fundraisers, we are able to support local projects such as the Youth Centre, Flamborough YMCA, Flamborough Food Bank and the Food4Kids project, which provides food to Waterdown kids who might not otherwise have enough to eat at weekends. Internationally, we’re able to sponsor literacy initiatives, support clean water projects and plant bread trees, which are a sustainable food source.
Our two major local projects are Waterdown Rotary Garden Court, providing affordable seniors housing since 1973, and the Waterdown Rotary Memorial Park Skating Loop. Our next challenge is to find suitable land for building affordable housing in town – can you help us?
The Rotary Club of Waterdown has been serving our community since 1955. Over the years, our Club membership has ebbed and flowed; currently, we have 37 members. We all share the desire to make a difference, at home and around the world. If you want to know more about Rotary, ask a Ribfest volunteer wearing a blue or a red t-shirt.
See you at Ribfest!

Using technology to increase access to youth mental health support may offer a practical way for young people to reach guidance, safe-spaces, and early help without feeling overwhelmed by traditional systems. Digital platforms, helplines, and apps could give them a chance to seek support privately, connect with trained listeners-orexplore resources that might ease their emotional load. This gentle shift toward tech-based support may encourage youth to open-up at their own pace, especially when in-person help feels too heavy to approach.
There is always a chance that these tools-quietly make support feel closer than before, creating moments where help appears just a tap-Berlinintim away. Even a small digital interaction might bring a sense of comfort. And somewhere in that space, you…
Detailed and practical, this guide explains concrete rebar in a way that feels approachable without oversimplifying. The step by step clarity is especially useful for readers new to the subject. I recently came across a construction related explanation on https://hurenberlin.com that offered a similar level of clarity, and this article fits right in with that quality. Great شيخ روحاني resource. explanation feels practical for everyday rauhane users. I checked recommended tools on https://www.eljnoub.com
