Ribfest wants YOU
I have been a huge fan of Waterdown's Oh Canada Ribfest since it launched in Memorial Park some 9 years ago. I have enjoyed the bands, the food and the fireworks, and I even recall taking part in a huge group singalong of BTO's Takin' Care of Business on the ball diamond. Invariably, I run into neighbours and friends and have a great time catching up with people I rarely see at any other time. This Canada Day, weekend, I will get to experience Ribfest (which kicks off in just

Just park it
Life is good chez Jefferies on Canada Day weekend…instead of having to drive out of town for great live music, delicious food and the chance to meet up with friends, all the fun comes right to us! The Rotary club’s Ribfest planning committee has put together a food lineup that caters to every craving. Roasted corn on the cob? Check. Chicken and chips? Check. Bloomin' Onions? Yep. And then there are the sweet treats…I’ll need room for a funnel cake or beaver tail - decisions,

So many ribs to choose from...
Canada Day weekend in Waterdown means Ribfest! And with just a little over two weeks to go until the annual Rotary event kicks off in Memorial Park, my thoughts are already turning to which mouth-watering delights I will enjoy this year. While my personal preference is a rich, smoky sauce combined with fall-off-the-bone tender pork, some of my fellow rib aficionados go for something with a more robust texture, dressed in a tangy sauce. Still others take a break from pork and
