Waterdown's Ribfest Goes Virtual

Summer is coming...

In normal times, that means meeting up with friends and family at Memorial Park, enjoying some of your favourite festival foods and refreshments, and rocking out to some great local bands.

These are not normal times -- but that doesn't mean the Oh Canada Ribfest organizers haven't been working hard to find a way to keep Waterdown's favourite community tradition alive and make the kickoff to this summer memorable. So, we're going virtual. This is what it looks like:

The best thing about Ribfest is hanging out with family and friends you may not see any other time of year. Make a Ribfest date and connect with them (in an appropriate social distancing kind of way, of course). If you can't see them in person, meet up online while you enjoy your food and beverages. Speaking of food...

We have invited local restaurants and vendors to come up with a "Ribfest Special" featuring some delicious summer favourites. A list of participating restaurants will be posted soon. Just pre-order your meals or food kits, pick them up June 27 or June 28, and enjoy! (And enjoy knowing you are supporting the small businesses who help make our community a great place to live.)

Thanks to sponsors Brown Financial Security and Brown Lawyers, we are excited to announce the first-ever live-stream concert featuring some of your favourite Ribfest performers. Brush up on your air guitar, and tune in on Saturday evening (it will be recorded and streamed again on Sunday) to hear some great tunes.

Of course, we want you to share photos and videos of all the fun...just tag us on Facebook and Instagram, or use #ohcanadavirtualribfest.

See you (online) soon!
